Sysly
A native monitor for Apple Silicon Macs. Track resource use, inspect processes, and arrange the dashboard around the readings you need.

Overview
I wanted the system readings and process controls I use in btop in a native Mac window. Sysly is my take on that idea, built in Rust with GPUI. It charts hardware activity, lets you inspect and control processes, and keeps CPU and memory summaries in the menu bar when you close the window.
What I built
- Collected CPU, GPU, memory, disk, network, and battery readings. The process view supports search, a process tree, and confirmed actions to terminate, pause, or resume a process.
- Reduced unnecessary work by redrawing charts when samples arrive and finding the busiest processes once per sample. Closing the window slows collection to at most once every five seconds.
- Made dashboard sections draggable and resizable, with editable labels and named layouts. Users can import and export both themes and layouts.
- Wrote checks that compare readings with macOS counters, a generated CPU workload, and a known loopback transfer. Separate scripts compare app overhead across repeated native GUI sessions.
